Background
Shawn Teters played Division I baseball at Monmouth University for two seasons after transferring from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. A speedster, stole just shy of 40 bases in his two seasons and held a career batting average of .335.
Expertise
Shawn Teters currently coaches two travel ball teams in Northwest Arkansas (SoCal Athletics Teters/Jendro 08 and SoCal Athletics Teters/Jendro 05). He has been a mainstay in the softball world, doing lessons and coaching teams for the last ### years. In addition to his head coaching responsibilities, Teters is a teacher in the Springdale school system's EAST (Education Accelerated by Service and Technology) program. EAST's mission is "to provide students the opportunity to have relevant, individualized, life-changing educational experiences with a service-based focus."
Warehouse Why
"I coach because I want them to be more successful than I was. I used to hit obsessively when I played. Team practice for 3 hours? I would go hit another hour afterwards with clear goals of what I wanted to accomplish in my baseball career. Ever since I stopped playing, there is that empty feeling. I feel it now with my athletes' goals. Which is why I love the Warehouse so much. The atmosphere is always positive and the instructors are constantly challenging themselves and their athletes to get better. They are such a great example of the growth mindset and we are constantly learning from each other. You can definitely tell that they care more about the person than just the athlete." - Shawn Teters
